What's Tobokegao?

In the summer of 2014, they started composing music using "Gameboy" as a method of musical expression that they arrived at through their band activities.

They have released many songs using "LSDj", a composition software for chiptune artists, and gained recognition.

In 2016, they joined the netlabel "ESC TRAX" and "Cheapbeats".

In 2017, they performed at the world's largest chiptune festival "Square Sounds Tokyo 2017" as their past achievements were evaluated.

In 2019, they started to operate "TBKgao", an independent label focusing on chiptune music.

In 2020, they provided bgm for the new MSX2 game "Caravan Boomer" by a gorgeous composition team.

In 2021, they provided the background music for Lily lemonade Mone, a Vsinger who jumped out of the game world by a bug belonging to 447 Records.

Currently, they working on their own music production using M8 Tracker as their main tool.

Tobokegao is a veteran of the chiptune scene who I've followed for a long time, and the quality of their work has stayed consistent: highly melodic, very energetic, often happy and upbeat, constantly pushing boundaries.

i cannot remember who said it, but before an online live show, someone said "tobokegao is someone who everyone in the chiptune scene has shared at least one exchange with". that introduction was very memorable because it is 100% true
