Overview
- Date: Saturday, September 16, 2017
- Venue: Koenji HIGH
- Event: Square Sounds Tokyo 2017
- Tobokegao’s part: Live set (Game Boy Advance SP, LSDj, 30 minutes)
Looking back
Tobokegao chose songs that felt right to play live, so only two were originals, and the set became something like a mashup of 20 songs. It flowed from city pop through minimal techno, C64 big beat, trap and video game music to J-pop. Several songs were packed into one data file and the tones were changed on the spot (five data files in all).
Afterwards
On Friday, September 14, 2018, a mix recreating this set, “Square Sounds Tokyo 2017 tobokegao Mix”, was released free on SoundCloud. A version accompanied by video was released via AMDISCS.
