About the release

The Bandcamp page carries an overview by Kevin Kilcoyne. In short:

“Omoi” is a Japanese homonym that means both thought and great weight. The illustrations were created during a very difficult time as a means of escape. Their themes are nostalgia and escape, along with the dark thoughts that creep in and surround you like a fog. Books, video games, anime and manga were also sources.

Once the collaboration with Giant Chess Men began, the series took a clearer shape as a picture of an imaginary, isolated house in the mind. The style changes a little from one piece to the next, while the same motifs keep coming back.
